Is Facebook right for your business in Panama?
Engagement is the real performance indicator on Facebook. If fans aren’t engaged with your content despite your best efforts, it may be time to throw in the towel — or not step into the ring at all.
Businesses That Should Avoid Facebook
Facebook makes sense for the majority of businesses. Any company with a brick and mortar location, or where customer interaction and communication of information is critical, can benefit from Facebook marketing.
However, there are a few industries where it becomes more hassle than a help, mostly in business-to-business (B2B) companies.
Most Facebook marketing strategies include the following objectives:
• Build brand awareness and loyalty;
• Share relevant industry content;
• Promote events;
• Generate leads;
• Engage with influencers.
The first three points won’t provide any return if you can’t engage your audience. If they are not engaged, neither are they likely to convert into leads. Facebook ads could prove useful for driving leads, but there are better platforms available to accomplish this.
Alternative Social Media Platforms
Twitter is an excellent platform for enforcing your standing as an industry thought leader. While it may seem counterintuitive, you should not only promote information and news about your company. Twitter is more about reciprocity and building relationships.
LinkedIn is the social media site for professionals. Every B2B company should have a business page with an active employee presence. Like Twitter, LinkedIn is ideal for positioning yourself and your company as thought leaders and industry influencers.
One of LinkedIn’s most useful features is the ability to join and participate in relevant groups. Consider setting up a group specifically for your company as a place to display your expertise and give your customers an opportunity to discuss their pain points.
